Has anyone got twitches of the face, constant mild headache and internal mild shake? My right wrist is so inflamed and hurts - when I put pressure on my left hand it shakes out of control. My left hand fingers are swollen and fluid filled stiff. Burning toes. Help. My symptoms are weird. I’m thinking ms not pd. Or even spinal.
Weird Symptoms. : Has anyone got twitches... - Cure Parkinson's
Weird Symptoms.
Ooops. I meant left wrist. It’s all my left side.
I would see a doctor about the inflamed wrist and the fingers swollen and fluid filled. This may be an injury resulting from the Parkinson's but in any case it should be diagnosed and treated.
The internal tremor is par for the course for Parkinson's. Do you have reasons to doubt the Parkinson's diagnosis aside from the named symptoms? Do you have one-sided resting tremor? Are any of your symptoms responsive to levodopa?
No resting tremor. Only tremor when reaching for something and twitches. General neuro x 2 say no pd and 2 x neuro / mds say yes. Left leg dragging a little with slowed walking and stiff left leg. No pd meds started.
Hmmm. Action tremor and not resting tremor is certainly not typical of PD. Do the neurologists that say not PD have any alternative diagnoses?
Worth remembering (and reminding your doctor) that you can get other illnesses even though you have PD, so its well worth seeing a doctor. I think PD is too often used because its easier than actually diagnosing.
I sometimes joke I could have a leg lopped off in an accident and hop into my doctor who takes one look at it and states 'well maybe we need to increase your Sinemet and see if it improves'.
I've had similar symptoms where the fingers in my right hand will swell up (become inflamed and itchy), especially when I get cold. It can last for weeks, until the weather starts to warm up. My neurologist doesn't think it's PD related. I believe the disorder is known as chilblains. Check out the following link: mayoclinic.org/diseases-con...
Sometimes I get mild tension headaches, but they are usually caused by stress or anxiety. Try to avoid taking over the counter pain killers, since they seem to make the problem worse with their rebound side effects. I also get twitches around my eyes, but in my case, I think that's mostly caused by looking at a computer screen far too long or maybe not getting enough sleep due to insomnia.
I do have dystonia in my right foot which causes the toes to curl. If I walk too long, the foot starts to feel stiff and fatigued. Usually if I take my PD medicine (Sinemet CR 25/100), I don't have a problem until the stuff starts to wear off after about 8 hours.
I'm 55 right now, but I've had weird neurological symptoms since my late 30s, starting with numbness and tingling in my face, feet and hands. Always wondered if I might have something like MS. I've had two brain MRIs and a c-spine x-ray and neither one could find anything wrong.
Wow. So similar. My mri’s and CT’s are clear. My spine is shot to bits. Spurs, spondylitis (crumbling) no part of my spine is unaffected. I get lots of dizziness and twitching and I too think it could be ms. I think the neuroscience are very quick to PD everyone that’s not obvious. I’m not on pd meds. I guess it’s wait and see what progresses. Thank you for your response. It makes me feel better.
I would try massage therapy and/or heat therapy of the neck and down the arms and into the hands. A chiropractor might give you some helpful advice.
