Eclipse anxiety. Could it be the dark side of the moon?

Greetings from Corvallis Oregon

This is considered to be one of the best possible locations for viewing the eclipse tomorrow morning. I'm in an ideal location for spot on viewing from my front yard. I will be surrounded by great family friends and neighbors, but somehow I'm noticing an elevation in my anxiety.

I've been a life long lunatic in that I've always enjoyed moonlight experiences. However I somehow feel current high elevation of my chronic anxiety. Perhaps it is related to the phenomena of a once-in-a-lifetime experience of witnessing the Darkside of the moon. I'm curious if anyone else is in the path of the eclipse in North America and experiencing anything similar to my current anxiety elevated state.

No, not really. We live in Signal Mountain, near Chattanooga, TN and will be viewing it on our back deck with another couple. The weather should be good and an almost total eclipse of 99.6% should occur at 2:30pm. My husband plans to photo and record the sounds of the darkness with a camera that will be set up below the deck in the back yard.

Hi Etterus,

Could it be that the eclipse of the Sun by the Moon has an unconscious meaning, like the (momentary) victory of Darkness on the symbol of the Father ?

I experienced that like 17 years ago in Europe. An amazing boot of anxiety when the Sun disappeared. The symbol of the Father beaten by... the symbol of the Mother ?

OTOH (and not to detract from Mother Moon) even for those in the total eclipse path, that darkness is temporary.

Or,as it's been more lyrically put:

"There is a crack - a crack - in every thing.

That's how the light gets in."

Take an extra long look for me.......

I will probably forget about it by then, it is still 13 hours away.

The rumor is that, if you close your eyes and howl real loud for the 2+ minute duration of the moon's transit, you'll get through it OK. Details: youtube.com/watch?v=AwpEIvR...

No way to forget this eclipse if you have a TV on. It is my understanding that this eclipse has an importance to everyone ...... so here is your Horoscope for today.....

It was an excellent experience from my front yard. No real anxiety issues. I did learn that there is no dark side of the moon...it's sinked with the earth so we always see the same side.
