Any suggestions on these? I feel like i have some issues with body odor even though i hve asked my husband about it and he says he doesnt smell anything. He is so nice that maybe he wouldnt want to hurt my feelings. Does anybody have any advice on what to take and where to buy it. I know it isnt all the same also does it help with smelliness and what are the benifits of taking as i have mixed info.TY everyone!

For probiotics I like: Garden of Life Raw Probiotics 100 Billion with 34 Strains about $40 on Amazon. I also like Hyperbiotics Pro-15 with 5 Billion CFU and 15 Strains.

The Pro-15 is designed to resist stomach acid, which is important. The Raw probiotics are very potent and have a lot of diverse strains which is also important.

Natural sources of probiotics include yogurt, sauerkraut ( not pasteurized), kimchi, miso, and kiffir.

Prebiotics are the fiber probiotics live on in the gut. Onions, garlic, ginger, and beans are all good prebiotics.

Some people think there is a relationship between gut health and PD. Eating a lot of probiotics from a natural source or a supplement along with a healthy diet that excludes sugar and inflammatory grains like wheat, can help with most gut, complaints, reflux, depression and anxiety. Gut health and proper nutrition can cure many diseases and help others.

One final word of caution. Many, many probiotics do not contain what they promise. Buy your probiotics from reputable sources, some require refrigeration, some don’t. Amazon has been a good source for me. Good luck and good health to us all!

I’m not sure what the connection is between body odour and prebiotics but my understanding is that we all have a change in our skin which is what causes the change in our smell. My Parkinson’s nurse told me yesterday that it’s to do with oils which you lose with Parkinson’s. My husband has noticed I smell differently from before and I’m going to try abusing a body oil.

By the way I take a prebiotic from Costco.

I read that if your gut flora(Bacteria) are off it can make you smell bad also make your breath smell bad. This smelliness only started since i got Parkinsons, I have never smelled bad in my life and it is very discouraging to me. :( I work full time and constantly worry about smelling bad.

I agree - its so upsetting knowing other people can smell your aroma. I lost my sense of smell before Parkinson’s was diagnosed.

RobynS,

Some people find benefit with supplemental chlorophyll for controlling body odor from the inside out. The combination of zinc and magnesium may be additive and magnesiun is healthful for us in general and quite useful for PWPs. Other useful things are yogurt celery and pineapple.

When it comes to probiotics I have tried and can recommend Flourish Probiotics by Eu Natural. 18 potent strains, 14 Billion CFU. This supplement is basically made from friendly bacteria which is aimed to improve digestive, urinary and gut health. So if this poor smell is associated in any ways to either your digestive system or urinary tract. I am certain this is the best way out. Check it and I hope this helps
