Stay Strong and let us hope that soon we will have some great news by this time next year. Note that the trial is now in Phase2.
"Neuroprotective Mechanisms of Anavex 2-73 Revealed in Preclinical StudyStudies in mouse models of Parkinson’s have shown that Anavex 2-73 may represent a potential strategy to treat this disease, as the compound was able to restore the function of damaged nerve cells and significantly improve motor function in these mice."
"The drug has completed a Phase 2a clinical trial and is currently being studied in a Phase 2b/3 study for the treatment of early Alzheimer’s disease and a Phase 2 study for Parkinson’s disease dementia."
The Parkinson's study is a 14 week study still enrolling - it took them four months to enroll one third of the desired number. At this rate it is going take them another eight months to fully enroll the study. It makes sense it is slow enrollment because Parkinson's patients with dementia are not likely to take the initiative to join the study. In my opinion it was a bad mistake to restrict the study to Parkinson's dementia since the mechanism they are claiming for this drug would address all stages of Parkinson's if it works.
The company claims it will report results in 2019 but at this rate they may not report results until next year.
Most recent presentation listed on their website is from May of last year. However they did do a presentation just last month which is only available at subscription site Seeking Alpha as far as I can tell.
They are going to run out of cash by the end of the third or fourth quarter this year. They have an ATM which means they can raise cash by selling stock at the market.
I think you are mistaken about their cash position. They wont run out of cash by the end of 3rd or 4th Qtr. this year. Just wait and see if we get results by EOY. We will know if it works or not.
