Over the last 6-7 days, husband is experiencing unusually excessive sleepiness, worse tremors and very stiff and slow movements. Thoughts?

Mjm012649,

Time to talk to his neurologist about adjusting med dosages or considering new meds?

Another thought is HDT if he has not already tried it.

If there are any sudden and big changes in PD symptoms you should check any recently received medicine bottles to make sure the dosages are correct. Early in my first year of PD I got 5.0mg tablets for one medicine when I was supposed to get 0.5’s. That was ... not fun.

Wow! That's crazy stuff. I will check his meds bottles. Thanks for responding.

I just experienced the same thing starting last month. In addition I also had heart palpitations, anxiety etc. First I thougt my PD has suddenly gotten worse. But, this had happened to me about 6 months ago I even went to the ED with followup with my neurologist. Issue =it resolved itself. This time I remembered I had started a new refill obtained from the pharmacy Sept 2018. I stopped taking that refill and skipped to my December 2018 refill. After about 3 days I started to improve. I talked to the pharmicist who seemed to not believe me. She said to split taking from each refill. Issues started back. After 3 days I went back to the good pills. I feel better. Now I have to address this problem.

Issue = Lot number or shipment problem?

I my case the pharmacist, who to his credit took responsibility for the mistake, noted that the prescription order read ".5 mg" instead of "0.5 mg" He did say that it is proper to put a zero before the decimal in cases like this to avoid these types of errors. The bottom line for us is to inspect our medicines with each refill before we start taking them. Check the label for the correct dosage and check the pill itself. If the pill looks different than your last order confirm that its still the right medication!

You make a great point in that we need to take the responsibility to review our meds and refills for errors! Thank you for your input.
