I bought a magazine yesterday on Brain Health. There were articles on all sorts of aspects, including the effects of the microbiome on the brain. In a nutshell, the scientist interviewed declared that one generally gets a sense if there are problems with the biome if a person a) has Irritable Bowel Syndrome or b) Constipation.
What then is one to think if - like me - one's never had either of these?! Are we to suppose that the biome is healthy and that the answer lies elsewhere? Just curious.

Symptoms of a bad gut biome may not always be apparent. Testing would be the ideal way to make a more accurate determination. More and more it is becoming apparent that many disease states can be accompanied by a perturbed gut biome and usually are. PD is a disease associated with a disturbed gut biome and the over present and under present gut microbes have been identified, but not every PWP reports having constipation or other gut related issues so I tend to disagree with that scientist's inference that some symptoms should be present such as IBS or constipation. Many people have a perturbed gut with no obvious gastro issues.
