CAUTION. Activated Charcoal can remove Toxins from your system. It can also remove Medications.

You have to take it 1-2 hours away from food, supplements, meds. My husband is currently taking capsules at 3 and 8 pm as this is the sweet spot for the 1-2 hour requirement. He has tested for c.diff AND mold. UGH.

Based on the following study, it appears that colloidal silver may be active against Clostridium Difficile :

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Colloidal silver has also shown itself to have synergy with multiple antibiotics as well as the ability to reactivate certain antibiotics that have lost effectiveness through resistance.

Art,

Thanks for the comment. We're following the protocol from our holistic psychiatrist, functional medicine nurse along with the advice from a consult with Great Plains Laboratory. All pretty much on the same page but no mention of colloidal silver. His C diff was much improved between the first test on 8/17 and a followup in 5/18. We're getting ready to do another test soon. Sadly, none of this is cheap.

I only mentioned the CS because I am aware that C diff can be quite resistant to the antibiotics used to treat it in a similar fashion to SIBO or Candida and CS has shown the ability to kill C diff on its own as well as act synergistically with some of those antibiotics and potentially reduce antibiotic resistance. CS also has the ability to breakdown certain biofilms which antibiotics may not be able to. The length of your husbands treatment gives a clear understanding of how resistant C Diff can be to treatment, so other options that can add synergy or improve the effectiveness of current antibiotics is of high value. Some natural inhibitors are MCT oil derived from coconut oil, EGCG derived from green tea, vitamin D serum level in the upper half of the reference range and synbiotics to name only a few.

You might also consider synbiotics after such a lengthy antibiotic regimen to help reduce the chance for a return of the C diff.

Husband is not taking any antibiotics. Also he is doing other things to deal with the situation - just didn't mention them. He was diagnosed through the Great Plains Laboratory organic acids test. Again, he is following a coordinated protocol with the 3 people aforementioned. I do know about CS as I have used myself and know of it's use with gut issues, it's just not part of what our practitioners are recommending.

Fwes is right be careful. It is a great detox but it will remove everything. I always have it on hand for food poisoning. You can also do charcoal patches and apply externally and it will draw out toxins that way.
