Salidroside (rhodioloside) is a glucoside of tyrosol found in the plant Rhodiola rosea. Researchers find Salidroside has neuroprotective effects on neurotoxin-based model of Parkinsons by inhibiting inflammation, oxidative stress & cell apoptosis

From what I am able to tell this model of Parkinson's disease is very poor at determining what substances may be useful. The issue is protecting a mouse against a neurotoxin is quite a bit different than mitigating or repairing alpha-synuclein damage in a human.

Yes , the central nervous , gastrointestinal , psychological and emotional systems of humans are different from those of rats or other animals . Only thing common is hunger , pain and fear of death . Diseases like Parkinson's have got much to do with the above factors and any research on animals does not do any justice to human suffering .
