Just because the sinemet is doing more harm than good and the b1 hasn't kicked in yet, and the food I'm eating becomes my worst enemy for many days, and getting up from a sitting or reclining position is a daunting proposition, and I have the shanks, doesn't mean I have to be miserable. "a merry heart doeth good like a medicine". I watch these videos every night before bed (even though I haven't slept on one for 15 years). To the best of our ability, let's not allow what we had to deal with yesterday or what we may face tomorrow, rob us of any good or joyful thing we can squeeze out of today.

Great video. Made me laugh out loud
Absolutely! We try to keep a sense of humour with everything.
Thanks for that wonderful video. I am still smiling while writing this message to you. From what you have said in your message, you really are not having a good time, but are making the most of it.
I feel bad because I have been lucky enough to have overcome many of my Pd symptoms, except the insomnia, and one or two others. I tell everybody I can about what I was lucky enough to have been introduced to, many years ago.
I started fast walking in 1994, when I also came off levodopa medication and was put onto Selegiline. Since then I started to get better and by 2002 I was able to come off the selegiline and have continued to do the walking ever since. I have lived a 'normal' life since then and am now 84 years old. I wish I could persuade lots more Pd patients to do the fats walking. It took me eight years before I gt better but it was eight years of getting better instead of getting worse. Isn't that worh trying?
john,
thanks for the advice. unfortunately i have injures to my left foot and left knee that permanently prevent me from fast walking. I have purchase a peddler and am hoping
to implement a strategy to mimic the walking. Any suggestions from anyone would be appreciated.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is a peddler? Do you sit on it?
May I ask you; is your inability to walk a permanent condition? Is there nothing that can be done about it?
Peddling as fast as you can with as much resistance as possible, also helps to deal with Pd, but not as much as walking on uneven surfaces. So, go ahead and walk on your Peddler and make the exercise as difficult as possible.
It looks something like this. amazon.com/MarcyPortable-Ma.... Having Pd and at my age, I don't want to go through the major surgeries necessary to "fix" my knee and ankle conditions. When spring rolls around, I'll be biking 15 miles a day day.
