I've posted before about hand mudras to help tremors. I posted a picture before. The link here is to a video. (Actually I can't straighten my fingers as much as the man in the video does but it doesn't seem to matter). I find this mudra in particular does calm my tremor. I hold it for up to 15 minutes at a time, three times a day... when watching TV, walking, chatting with friends, resting! Try it for a week or two and see if it helps. It's best to give it time to rebalance the body rather than expecting it to work instantly.

Will this help my tremor even though it shakes the whole time I'm holding the fingers in this position?
I am so fortunate to have Prof Sanjay Raghav (the man in the video) as my neurologist. He is a treasure, open minded and has a wealth of alternative knowledge in dealing with PD. I always feel calm and much less stressed after I have seen him.
Wow, lucky you to have a neurologist with a wealth of alternative ideas and treatments. Perhaps you could share some?
I will be more than happy to.
I have only seen Dr Raghav twice, (March 18, Sept 18 and next appt Dec this year).
I was diagnosed by another neurologist specialising in movement disorders but I was not very happy with his approach and had been thinking about changing due to his constant mentioning of medication even though I had good QOL without the meds. (Eventually I did start taking Azilect for its possible neuroprotective benefit.)
He saved me the trouble by reducing his patient load to concentrate on research, etc.
With the help of my GP, I found DR Raghav (and he is only a 20 minute drive from home and close to the Dandenong market that I love to visit).
Instant rapport from first appt.
I had already started taking B1 by my first appt and he was very interested to hear about the protocol and happy for me to continue to see what happens.
First visit he suggested:
yoga, of course,
diet changes to more plant based and natural foods,
reduction of dairy, preferably complete elimination,
drink more coffee,
exercise especially dedicated gait practice emphasising arm swing, heel strike, toe lift, heel to toe push off, stride length
deep breathing and meditation
Second visit was to see how I was going and he specifically asked about the B1 and was still happy for me to continue taking it. At this visit I also asked for his opinion on taking CL and he replied he did prescribe it when absolutely necessary but with much lower starting doses than other doctors. He saw no reason for me to start taking it as my QOL is not impacted by my symptoms.
Waiting for next instalment and I will keep you informed.
Is there a supplement he suggest for tremor,? I got to get control of this thing I'm going to have to quit work I work part-time but not much longer if I don't do something about this tremor
No he didn't suggest a supplement but he did suggest to sit down, close eyes and breathe deeply for a few minutes and try to still the mind from racing thoughts. I find this works for me if I do it properly. Fortunately I am also in the position of being retired and with only a mild tremor although my tremor worsens under stress so I can imagine how working could make your tremor worse.
Have you tried the Thiamine hcl (B1) protocol that is being discussed on HU? I am now taking B1 (since March this year) and have found relief from the tremor and rigidity. Dr Raghav is happy for me to continue taking B1.
Hope this helps and best wishes.
What other meds do you take with the B1? How much B1 do you take milligrams? I tried it once and never reorder cuz they were always out,,
It's very hard to relax with a Tremor that moves so fast i can't even think straight anymore
I am so sorry to hear that it must be awful for you.
When my tremor is bad I like to close my eyes and take a few deep breaths to try and lessen stress levels. I then get up and move around, go for a walk with exaggerated arm swings, shake my arms and hands and do some stretching exercises.
All this doesn't take much time - just a few minutes.
I have a bad tremor someone suggested this to me but I can't play the video for some reason he doesn't come through
