Neuro Hifu INSTANTLY ELIMINATES TREMORS

Hello everyone! Does anyone have experience with Neuro Hifu? It's a non-invasive procedure (using ultrasound) that INSTANTLY ELIMINATES TREMORS. It's available in Spain and Chile, and I believe also in Miami. It costs around 20,000 euros.

Essentially, it uses heat to precisely target and eliminate a specific point in the brain. You're not put to sleep; instead, they just apply water to your head to prevent the skin from heating up, and the rest is done using ultrasound.

I'm currently exchanging emails with its creator to find out if it also addresses other Parkinson's symptoms, as the focus is always on ESSENTIAL TREMOR.

Here's a video

News about the doctor when I asked him about if it can fix the 'off period'

"There are several brain areas that can be treated including the subthalamic nucleus and the pallidothalamic tract. This means that both DBS and Hifu can be used to treat patients with symptoms beyond tremor including gait freezing and off periods. "

SPANISH:

"Hay varias áreas del cerebro que pueden tratarse, incluido el núcleo subtalámico y el tracto palidotalámico. Esto significa que tanto DBS como Hifu pueden usarse para tratar pacientes con síntomas más allá del temblor, incluida la congelación de la marcha y períodos de inactividad. "

It sounds like this may just be a different name for focused ultrasound unless maybe it is just a different form of focused ultrasound

Neuro-HIFU, or High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound, is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound waves to treat movement disorders like Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. During the procedure, ultrasounds are fired through the skull to damage the areas of the brain that are causing the patient's symptoms.

HIFU can also be used to treat other conditions, such as tumors and uterine fibroids. The procedure involves using highly focused, high-intensity sound waves to interact with and modify or destroy targeted tissues in the body.

Some say that HIFU is tolerable, and that most people don't feel anything at all, while others may feel a minor electric shock sensation when the heat rays enter the skin. After the procedure, patients may experience side effects such as:

I have heard this procedure does eliminate tremors for about 10 years, however after that, the tremors return and are much worse.

I don’t think that they have been doing the procedure that long. Can you probide a link to where you saw that?

I spoke directly to the intake coordinator at Cleveland Clinic

HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) . My husband went to NYU for an evaluation last week to see if he was a candidate. The surgeon explained the procedure works best at eliminating Essential Tremor but they are seeing it doesn’t work in about 40% of Parkinson’s patients. They don’t know why the tremor returns and many of these patients then go back to have DBS. That’s a high statistic and they did not recommend it for Parkinson’s at this time. They said they were very confident that DBS could help manage the tremors . Also DMS is reversible and HIFU is not. They also said this is an option for someone who is not a candidate for DBS due to their age or other condition.

wow, 40% is too much. I going to ask about this stats

Another answer for the doctor :

What you need to know about surgical procedures (HIFU or DBS):

HIFU of the subthalamic nucleus: is performed on one side of the brain, therefore it only helps one part of the body (right or left). If the problem of off periods is due to bilateral involvement, HIFU is not a good option. In some selected cases, we are doing bilateral HIFU, but as I indicate they are selected patients and generally younger (My mother 72)

DBS: can be performed bilaterally. The age limit is usually set at 70 years, although it is not a strict criterion. It depends on the physical situation of the patient and the symptoms of Parkinson's. But, the older you are, the less benefit with DBS

For surgical procedures, it is necessary to perform a motor and neuropsychological assessment. From there the final decision is made.

Medication infusion devices:

Subcutaneous apomorphine: may be a good option for your mother, if she has no cognitive and psychiatric problems.

Subcutaneous levodopa/carbidopa: This is the new treatment. Fewer cognitive restrictions

intraduodenal levodopa/carbidopa (through a small tube that goes from the skin to the stomach). Very effective and generally well tolerated

News from Chile's clinic :

3 types of HIFU treatments, which depend on the symptoms of each patient, and are performed on only one side of the body, generally they are the following:

Thalamotomy: to treat tremor

Subthalamotomy: to treat tremor and rigidity

Pallidotomy: to treat tremor, rigidity and dyskinesia, it has little effect on tremor

theres a facebook focused ultra sound group with many people posting videos of their success in Switzerland. Im convinced long term it’s the answer for me. The swiss clinic temporarily closed and is about to reopen with a new machine.
