Hi, I've been diagnosed with PD for about 7 years. Curentlly taking Levo/Carb 100/25 throughout the day. (1.5 at 8am, 1.5 at 11am, 1 at 2 and one at 5pm.)
Experiencing more off periods of stiffening lately once or twice during the day for about an hour or two each time.
I have heard of positive results from adding Dopa Macuna but unsure when the best time is to take it, how much to take, and what kind of results to be looking for.
Does anyone have experience with Dopa Mucuna?
Thank you

Yes, this is my dosing schedule with NOW Foods Dopa Mucuna: I use half a 25/100 Carbilev for the sake of the carbidopa for absorption behind the BBB along with 2 caps of Dopa Mucuna (totalling 170 mg levodopa) at 10h30; 120 mg (2 caps) Dopa Mucuna at 12h00; half a Carbilev and 1 or 2 caps Dopa Mucuna at 14h30. The benefits wear off after about 6-7hrs ON time. There is a FaceBook group for Mucuna Pruriens.
I was born and raised in Iraklion, Crete. Got married and came to the US early 20s. My whole family is still there, have no one here except hubby and son.
You could also try moving your C/L doses closer together so that you don’t have any off time. Instead of following the clock dosage times, I always try to take my next dose of C/L as soon as my first symptoms start to appear. It’s called the “No-Off” plan or some people call it Microdosing.. If you take a dose when you are off, you are 20 minutes too late. So people find they can lower their doses to accommodate closer next dosage. But why suffer through an off time when you don’t have to?
What is Dopa Mucuna? I was diagnosed about 7 yrs ago and take same dose of C/L 4 times a day like you. I also take two capsules of mucuna pruriens before bedtime. Also recently experiencing stiffness in legs making walking more of a chore.
