Good Morning. I will pick up a lot of flak telling you this, probably because you did not ask for any advice as to what you can possibly do to help you deal with your Pd symptoms. Other than MAOb inhibitors, there are no medications on the market that do anything about slowing down or even reversing the progression of Pd. I would like you, and any other Pd sufferer know that there are other actions you can take to help you possibly GET BETTER. These actions do not cost you anything, which is probably why other people complain about me telling people this.

Yes, you can take action right now. Look at my PROFILE and look at my website, reverseparkinsons.net. Contact me, as many others have done and I will pass as much information as I can onto you, at not cost whatsoever.

Welcome to the elite private special club with membership requirements of Parkinson's. Over here we have our tremble or shaking party, this side we have freezing, next on our tour is the memory loss, and so on so on.

Do you think Agent Orange was a factor in your getting Parkinsons . . . or do you have a regular garden variety?

Frank, Long time, no hear. You're probably asking PDinFLA? In my case, the VA acknowledges mine was probably caused by Agent Orange. They determine that having Parkinson's is a 20% disability. I just applied for a change of my disability status, but the veterans advocate I'm working with says it will be denied.

Is your PD from Agent Orange - the gift that keeps on giving?

What did you decide about N?

I am in the Nilotinib Trial at Georgetown U. Been in it since May. 66% chance I'm on the real drug. June of next year I'll be on it 100% for 12 mos. How are you doing?

Good, I'm glad you made it in.

I'm good, considering. Still not on PD drugs yet.

I hope it provides a noticeable benefit. Regrettably, I can't say it has for me, although I believe the underlying science makes sense, so it probably is helping me. I was taking 95 mg twice a day, but cut that down to 125 mg in the morning.

I just received disability status and benefits. I was in Nam but never exposed to Agent Orange. I was told it did not matter. If you were in Vietnam and now have PD, you qualify. Don’t take no for an answer.

DavDav, what percent of disability did they allow for you? It seems to me, the 20% they allowed for me is pretty puny. I'm trying to get my hands on their disability definitions and guidelines for decisions.

I also got 20% which I did not question since my symptoms were fairly mild. I have no idea how they decide the percentages.

The MINIMU.M for Parkinson's is 30%, then you appeal and add the other symptoms/situations as they arrive. Incontinance, loss of taste/smell, sleep disorder, REM, depression, psychosis, ED, etc.etc. You may have to file for re adjusting based on new symptoms as you experience them.
