I was just prescribed a new medicine (Amantadine 100 mg). I would appreciate any feedback if anyone has been taking it. I am concerned about side effects and all that you know about it.
Thank you in advance for answering my question.

Starfire27345 asked a specific question, and you used it to promote your site?
I am taking Amantadine for approximately 8 yrs. My neuro put me on it for dyskensia & it did help & I did not have any side effects, some people do though. I'm having some dyskensia now because a substitute neuro doubled my C/L, but I'm reducing the C/L & the dyskensia is much better.
I am taking 100 mg twice a day and have had no side effects. I’ve been taking that for probably a year and a half. They are just now coming out with a time release amantadine that I want to try at some point in the near future.
Thank you for your prompt response. My neurologist gave me this one. Perhaps it was because the time release was too new.
Hi Enidah. I know it’s been a long time. Are you still taking Amantadine?
I am still taking amantadine. 100 mg in the morning and another 100 mg midday. I kept wondering if it was beneficial and recently I forgot to take it two times in a row and my dyskinesia was definitely much worse. So that question got answered.Good to hear from you.
I did try the Gocovri, the time release amantidine, and it did not work for me at all. I ended up falling it made me so unsteady on my feet. Just getting the mail was scary so ...another one bites the dust. ☹️

I take it 2 to 3 times/day. No side effects. Does not seem to help tremors. I’ve been on it for 2 years. Helps me stay focused in the morning. Also good to guard against flu.
