Egcg prevents L Dopa from getting used up peripherally and rather more left for the brain to use. Similar to carbidopa.
Mannitol supposedly disolves alphasynuclean plaques, but probably more peripherally than in the brain, hence the sense of smell returning. But it only crosses the bbb minimally. I dont know that it has any synergy with Mucuna.
I saw no difference in the effectiveness of mucuna either with or without EGCG. I have not tried mannitol with mucuna. I use mucuna alone. It works for me every night the same. No augmentation. No increase needed to achieve the same effect. It must be taken on an empty stomach, though, or you may get sick and throw up (that's what happens to me). Fortunately that keeps me eating a light, early supper and NO snacking in the evening before bedtime.
About nausea. I started taking ECGC and it affected me EXACTLY as carbidopa did -- a wave of nausea followed by an upchuck. But here's what I wonder about both: If you take your meds and throw up, do you assume you've lost the meds? Do you take another dose, or just wait til your next dose is due?
