Having had problems with swallowing I’m on direct tube feed to stomach. My diet consists of high nutrition liquid feed for 15 hours a day. My PD medication consists of 180mg madopar 3 Times a day plus 8mg Repinex , all fed by the tube.
I wondered why my tremors were worse than before my swallowing problems but now see from some people high nutrient food can block the action of the madopar.
Would it pay me try taking the madopar etc during the non feed time either spaced out or all together?
.Any ideas or experience?

If i eat a small sandwich with potato chips (a very small serving) within a hour of taking my meds i will have 2 hours of downtime. If i eat a large meal and i feel the least bit full 2 hours before or 2 hours after my meds will not work for up to 8 hours but most times it is more like 4 hours. I will not get any relief until my stomach does not feel full. f i take my meds 2 hours before i eat a large meal and i take another dose when i eat my meal and 2 hours after i may only have 2 hours of down time. I have done this before and still had 5 hours of down time. When i say down time i mean unbearable pain in my legs, feet, my arms and my hands. I will cry like a baby for at least 30 minutes. I can barely walk of even get out of bed. The only thing good that has come out of this is i have lost 25 pounds because i am afraid of the pain so i just don't eat.
You should eat your meals as,far away from your med times as possible.
I was just relating what i do. I did not intend to suggest that you have meals like mine.
Are you on the feeding tube 15 hours straight. If you are i would take the Repinex 4 hours after or before you are on the feeding tube. The madopar i would take at 2.5 hours 5 hours and 7.5 hours when you are off he tube. One thing i would suggest is that you talk to your doctor about stopping the madopar and increase the Repinex to make up for it. Food does not seem to affect it like it does Madopar.
