I went to sleep Friday night at 10:00 pm and woke up a 2:00 am Saturday morning. I did not go back to bed till 11:00 PM Monday night. In was up for 71 hours. It did not feel like i was up that long and I did not feel overly tired or sleepy. I slept till 3:00 am Tuesday morning and it is now 1:00 am Wednesday Morning. I slept 4 hours Tuesday afternoon. I do not feel sleepy or tired and I most likely will not go to bed until between 7:00am and 8:00am in the morning. I will sleep about 2 hours or less. I have a full day tomorrow and I am looking forward to having a good day.

Good night and a better tomorrow.

Is it a withdrawal symptom of the dopamine agonist that your were on?

i am not sure maybe. Could be just me. I don't require as much sleep as most people never have.

Good morning Grumpy77

This post is just as important as any post here. You may not relate to it but someone here does. What is your definition of "helpful posts". Is it only the ones you relate to. Please don't try to discourage anyone not to post whatever they feel is relative to Parkinson's. There are so many issues we have with this thing we call Parkinson's. My post was not about me it was a story to let people know what everyone goes through at sometime during their fight with Parkinson's.

I didn't try to discourage anyone from posting. I have no rights to do that. I'm not admin

In any case since you misunderstood my post, I do apologise

And since you misunderstood and hence it didn't serve the original purpose, it's logical that I delete

Although there are only a few replies here it shows anything posted here about any thing to do with PD is important.

Whilst reading your reply to grumpy77, I wonder what had been written. People here really care about you and your contribution. I'd just accept their 'apology' and don't give it any importance by responding further.

Oh, and thank you for sharing your thoughts. Isn't that what everyone does here?

My reply was to a post by Grumpy77 he or she must have deleted it.

Ah sleep! One of my cherished activities but evasive and fleeting. I too should logically be tired given actual hours of sleep but strangely feel fine.

I'm sleeping as much as 7 hours a night on good days, depend on when I take meds and how much exercise, tv watching and book reading I did right before bed. I also take melatonin, baclofen and gabapentin right before bed. That combo usually keeps me asleep and also cuts down in the vivid dreaming, kicking and night sweats. I take Azilect in the morning and also use a cpap machine.

I'm not sure I'm sleeping very soundly though. I don't feel like I get to R.E.M. Sleep anymore.

Hi Winner,

have terrible time with sleep and was going to try some melatonin but wondering how much. Some people have told me that they need at least 3 mgs and some 5mgs. How about side effects; have you noticed anything?

Hey grasss1973,

I'm taking 10 mg of melatonin every night. My family doc prescribed that much, and I buy it over the counter.

I'm just a little sleepy in the morning, but it goes away after about 30 minutes. No other side effects.

I'm not on C/L yet so maybe consider that if you decide to use melatonin.

Thank you for the dose info. I'm kind of in a no win situation because I'm taking C/L every 4 to 5 hours through out the entire 24 hours so I'm awakened by restless legs when the next dose is due, but can't get back to sleep after that. Hoping the melatonin will help me get back to sleep!

I take 2 carba dopa/leva dopa every 3 hours. It helps me get a good nights sleep. I had a year of not sleeping but a few hours each night until I increased my medication. It is wonderful now to get a full nights rest.

Lynne,

Do you take the C/L during the night? Could you tell me what dose of C/L you're taking?

I'm assuming it's not the extended release formulation.

Thank you !

Take 25 100 carb/leva regular every 3 hrs during the night 10pm 1am and 4am. I get a good nights sleep every night.
