It's one guy showing off while performing a few strength training exercises with his trainer. It feels very narcissistic to me. How many PWPs have the option of working with a trainer six days a week?

I was tempted to add : Next step, "F**king for Parkinson's."

But it would have been gross, and disrespectful.

I'm glad I refrained myself.

:-)

please, do NOT refrain! We can take it. Whats the worst thing that can happen? You might get Parkinsons Disease?

Something to be said for weight training. I've been interested in setting up a small work-out area in the house and adding it to the regime. He's done well, I find it inspiring.

I'm early onset and am now 47 years old. I still work so am thankful to be able to afford a trainer 3 days a week for an hour. Its a sacrifice because I'm not rich but we do these types of exercise and I feel they help me. Strength helps with my balance and stamina. This is only my experience though. Free weights are great I would encourage you to set your space up.

Is a trainer necessary?

I happen to stiffen up pretty badly (I also sit at a desk all day) and have suffered with shoulder problems, sciatica and other injuries related to stiffness so found the intense stretching my trainer does both before and after keeps me from injury. It's not necessary you could easily work out without a trainer but I was increasingly finding myself injured prior.

I've been going to the gym for several years. In the beginning the gym I visited had trainers on the floor. No trainers for awhile now. If I have a question, I ask the owner/manager of the facility. Most gyms have folks that you can ask questions on how to use the equipment. For those what can't afford a personal trainer, and I'm one of them, they are not needed.

Visit the gym, walk on the treadmill, ride a bike, find out how to use the equipment. There are also some good exercise tips on YouTube. See Bob Schrupp and Brad Heinek, Physical Therapists on YouTube.

That Roman Chair with the weights made my lumbar spinal stenosis go into spasm just watching it! I hit the gym hard 2 days a week. Its great but its really my job that wears me out. If someday I get lucky enough to retire rich when I hit the lottery, I'll do 6 days a week. Aint nobody got time for that!

Very inspiring and for me just depressing. My heart won't let me do the simplest little exercises. So that kind of solution is for other people, not me.

Loved it! Thanks for sharing.

We don't need a personal trainer. If you can exercise, just do it as the Nike commercial says or used to say. Exercise at home if you are able.
