I was curious if I am the only one that is having performance issues as a PD symptom. I am sure it might be a subject that some don't really want to talk about but would like answers. I am thinking it might have been my first symptom or maybe not even related to PD

Oh, I believe it was one of my initial symptoms. Loss of sensation, numbness in limbs, somewhat, neuropathy, has been a problem for me, for around 8 years now. I believe performance issues are definitely part of my PD experience. I didn't, however, put two and two together, until just a couple years ago, when others with PD, in these forums, were mentioning that they have problems of the same nature. Surprisingly, I got a rather pedantic, neutral answer from my Doctor, when I mentioned that! It's amazing how, we, who have the disease, just know when something's amiss and how it ties into PD. Of course, I've done research into this, and found out that some of my other symptoms, probably involve the autonomic system. My prostate is fine.

My libido left the building...neurologist said it was definitely from PD.

Viagra, or more recently the generic sildenafil, is a great thing.

I read once, maybe here, a female doctor asked a fellow if he could still get it up. He was embarrassed and said, yes he could. Then she said, "Then you don't have Parkinson's."

Hi Pilot. I ave had Pd symptoms since 1963. I had a prostate operation in 2010 and since then I have not been able to perform because of erectile dysfunction. I did have a period a few years earlier when had problems but it came right again. Since to opening of the prostate it has never come right. I a 84 years old. It could be age related!

I could write a book! Just now the mere mention of it starts an argument. We've given up. Sigh. I'll try and contribute. It's difficult to gather it all together.

It's the story of two girls who talk about their sex lives.

- I was told you are with an old man now. Are you happy ?

-Oh , yes very much so...

- Is it like with a young one ?

- Yes... but they do not have dicks...

- Really !? What do they have instead ?

- They have "penises"...

- And what is it like ?

- It's just like a dick, but softer.

Never had ED and PD does not seem to slow me down. It is her, which is 11 years younger, complaining it is too much. Unfortunately there is no Viagra for women. They came with some pills but they are not reliable. So I need help for her, not for me. I'm over 60 but I have a lot imagination and that's better than Viagra. Yearly I do a prostate check and during the last appt I asked the doctor if the sex helps against prostate cancer. He said it was found that about 21 ejaculations per month reduce the probability of PC to almost zero.

I'm telling you boys and girls, the sex is mainly in the brain and not down there between the legs.

HI,

You are not alone. This was my husband's presenting symptom. I thought he just wasn't interested in me anymore...devastating to a relationship if you haven't had a diagnosis of PD. He had stiff ankles and absolutely no interest in sex, hardly a PD diagnosis, three years to get a diagnosis. Nine years later, he still has shown no interest in sex. I dragged him to the doctor a few times and brought it up, they recommended Cialis, and he never bothered to get a prescription and never spoke of it again. He has apathy as well, which means, he doesn't give a shit that he doesn't give a shit...so the good news is, is that you clearly do "care" or are able to "care" so I'm sure that you will do some research here and give a few things a try. Good Luck.

Initially I got some apathy, too, but Thiamine helped me to get my energy and libido back.

Get him on Hardy’s daily essential nutrients.

And b1. Has done wonders for hubby’s apathy levels and energy.

The subject (sexual dysfunction) has gotten a pretty thorough run thru in Webinars and articles: Michael J. Fox, Parkinson's Disease Foundation, ADPA, PMD Alliance, Parkinsons News Today. In Parkinson's Online I count 16. I'll send you a list and then any of the articles you want. Private message me your email.

My doctor is the head of the local Physicians Association. He is sharp as a tack. He tested me for hormone production and found I was typical.....so far below adequate that libido had little chance at 73. Wife same way. Immediately put us on hormonal therapy and returned our hormonal levels to that of a 35 year old. Talk about an awakening! It was never this good before. Literally amazing. "Nuff" said. Don't try it yourself with synthetics as they have many side affects. You need to be administered by a pro with natural hormones.

Where are you? And who's the doctor

There are more than 2000 physicians licensed and trained in this protocol in the U.S. and one or more is probably not over an hours drive from you wherever you are. The Health and Wellness program I am on originates with a doctor out of Texas and is branded as "bioTE". It has dropped my wife's blood pressure to 115 over 81, my immune system is remarkably improved, our energy has increased for everyday living, I have lost two inches off my belly. etc., etc. I am only 90 days into this program and the changes have been amazing to this point. My testosterone level has risen from 272 to over 730 and will continue to go up. I cannot tell you what all goes into the cocktail of pellets they inject but they monitor and test you every step of the way.
