I have been taking Mucuna NOW product along with siminet. I decided to to take more at night to maybe help sleep. I had the powdered form which i understand is much stronger. I took 1/4 tsp before sleep. I was awake most of the night and feeling nauseous. Could that dose be too much. Any help would be appreciated.

That's way too much and I wouldn't take it at night. I took some in the afternoon yesterday instead of taking it in the morning and I was up until 2am and had to get up at 6am to go to work.

It's not a good idea to take both sinimet and mucuna. They both provide Dopamine, one natural and the other chemical. You are most likely overdosing.

I was diagnosed in June of 2016 with slight right hand tremors, stooped posture and a bit of feet sliding. Confirmed by a DatScan. I was never put on medication until August of 2017. I have slow movements active hand tremors in right slight in left hand. I have signs of beginning short term memory issues. I researched after diagnosis and began taking organic powdered Mucuna Pureins but never at night as it does give me energy. I was told that Parkinson’s medications are more important during the day when the brain and body is active. My neurologist has been amazed at my slow progression and well being and has even suggested I continue supplementing between my Carbo/Levo since doing so well. I take a full tablespoon in a small amount of cranberry juice twice a day but never at night. I had to be patient and allow the mucuna to be in my system 60 days before determining if it was helping anything at all. I still take Mucuna Pureins pure powder form and the organic caplets if I travel or am away from home at my scheduled dose time. Hope this helps some.

From your post I understood you are taking powder mucuna. Can you tell what is the L-dopa content? Too much or not enough is relative to the concentration of the L-dopa in the product you are using. I use Zandopa powder and I take three out of six daily sinemet servings with mucuna. I substituted some of the sinemet with mucuna, trying to keep the same L-dopa quantity per serving. So far I am still adjusting the daily schedule.

Hi,

Right now I'm still taking the NOW capsules. I bought the powder from NutriVita and only took it once. I must have taken too much because I was up all night and did not feel good. I did just take it before bedtime so maybe that was the wrong time to start taking it. On the packet it says 100% L-Dopa. I would like to take it and go down on the siminet but don't know how. I take 5 siminet a day. Sorry I'm not a lot of help. I just ordered Mannitol so will try that.
