Cause different makers of med (Ropinirole). Just found out so can't type much. Always check maker on your meds.
Makers are
Dr. Reddy Good one for me Cost for 30 pills $180 us Pharmacy loses $45 to fill DR. Reddy insurance only pays $135
sandoz bad one for me Cost for 30 pills $5 us Makes $3 too fill
Wonder why DR. Reddy works better
Hiya from the UK. It's to do with the coating on the tablets. The better the coating the slower it breaks down and the longer the fix. Re your not being able to write much - have you tried going into the settings on your computer and slowing down the response times to suit you?good luck

Sorry you are having this problem. I encountered the Requip (Ropinirole) situation a few months ago. Having worked with my support team to overcome most 'freezing' episodes I was going through a bad patch mobility wise for no apparent reason. I had a Urinary Tract Infection which brought on a 4 day spell of being unable to move except for my head, fingers & toes. When I finished my course of antibiotics it took a long time to recover any degree of normality, especially mobility. At my next consultant clinic I was in a bad way & he asked me if I had recently had my Ropinirole levels checked because there was a problem with one brand which had led to problems in 8 of his patients. When tested there was no trace of Ropinirole. I returned to Requip & I am almost back to normal. I have taken this drug for 13 years - the only consistent med for PD.
The question I have is, how can we know about these differences BEFORE we start taking pills from a new supplier. Is there a lookup table somewhere so all of us won't have to repeat the same experience over and over?

That is the problem there is no difference they are the same med. I had the problem with c/l and some one here was taking the one i had problems with and could not take the one i liked. So depends on which one you start with.

I think the problem you are having is that there is less active ingredient in your generic. A generic does not need to be EXACTLY the same as the original.

For most conditions this would not matter, but with PD the difference can have a noticeable effect.

I am back on DR. Reddy and doing a lot better. I got a new scrip for 2 pills a day and the insurance requires a pre authorisation so i had to buy 20 pills to get me through the process they cost me $162.
