Blood pressure dips and dizzy spells
This happens to my husband about once a month. He will pass out and fall down. He says he can feel it coming on. It is usually in the afternoon. We talked to PD doc about it and the Doc had no answers.
I have low blood pressure. At my last Neurologist appt two weeks ago my bp was 90/60 seated, 85/60 standing.
I am taking madopar 150mg 3 times daily, began meds in Oct '16.
My neurologist stated i could try sinemet instead of madopar. I dont have any side effects so i chose to say on madopar.
Yes. It occurred (sometimes with faintings) when I was taking high doses of C/L and so my movement disorder specialist/neurologist reduced slightly my dosage of the C/L. He also switched my anti-depressant medication to Effexor (generic form is Venlafaxine) which has a side effect of increasing blood pressure and the problem went away.
However, I recently switched from C/L to Rytary, a new reformulation extended release of C/L, and the symptoms came back. So they reduced slightly the dosage of the Rytary and the low blood episodes went away again.
Yep, it is a side-effect.
