One of my symptoms is jaw chattering and I was wondering if this is common for PD or not.
Jaw chattering: One of my symptoms is jaw... - Cure Parkinson's
Jaw chattering
A new one on me, but I googled jaw chattering and Parkinson's and got a lot of hits, so, it is by no means unheard of.
My mouth and jaw & have what I call a slight tremor. I'm not sure if that's the same thing you are experiencing or not?
When my husband is in bed and winding down for the day he keeps opening and closing his mouth with his upper teeth hitting his lower lip. It stops when he goes into a deep sleep.
Not sure if this is what you mean but it is something that just started a few months ago and we are sure is a connected to his Parkinson's condition.
We all have had times when we are really cold and we shake and our teeth are chattering. It is the same feeling -- less the being cold -- in fact I could be doing this and sweating at the same time.
Chew gum. It helps.
I'VE HAD FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND YES IT IS ANOTHER PAIN IN THE ASS TO ENDURE !
Yes Theresa I have it too. It appears to be a fairly common symptom. It is not constant for me, but I think it is there to some degree most of the time. Often, it isn't very noticeable but other times i feel like it starts and my body does the same thing, If I get chilled I shiver uncontroably and my jaw. chatters like crazy! This is a muscular disease and can affect ANY muscle in the body ..... that's what we all have such different journeys.
