I have learned to keep a small cloth between my teeth... but it might not work the same with chattering,,, I use it to wick off the extra saliva. Do you have a fever?

No no fever and I am not sick. I do notice that when my Mucuna wears off I tend to start to cllick my teeth like as if I were outside with no coat on. Apparently because dopamine levels obviously control the movement of the jaw this is part of the issue. I have to get a mouthguard I believe at night because when I wake up in the morning now I noticed that the top four teeth tend to be a little numb and odd feeling is if almost like they ache and not because of any decay at all as my teeth are completely fine and healthy but because of the fact that I might be chattering in the middle of the night as Iā€™m sleeping. But Iā€™m not sure because Iā€™m sleeping LOL

Iā€™ve never had a drooling issue or a saliva issue for that manner.

I hope the mouth guard helps relieve the teeth grinding or chattering. Yes every one has such a unique pool of symptoms... I haven't spoken to anyone who has the exact same combination of symptoms as me.

Yes I think thatā€™s what Iā€™m gonna do with my dentist.

I had that occasionally. High doses of B1 helped tremendously. It also eliminated my internal tremor.

How high is a high dose of B1? There seems to be little consensus on this. What is effective for you?

4g/day. If you want to learn more, there are many posts on this board about the high-dose therapy.

Read up above. I need to do more I guess.

Tried 4000 mg (8 caps/daily), for a month, and not much relief. Thoughts?

cclemonade,

The dose range that has been reported to be effective on this forum is 25 mg/day to 4.5 grams/day. Generally the less you weigh, the less you need and the more severe your symptoms, the more you need, however the response time is even more variable as the earliest reported dose time to noticeable improvement is the same day as initial dose up to 7+months to see first result.

Very few members are close to the 4 gram area or the 25 mg area. The majority seem to be in the 1,500 Mg to 2,500 mg range. Here is a link to all of the info that Dr. Costantini left with this forum regarding HDT/B1 :

Good luck!

Thanks for that. Iā€™m sure I need to take more. Iā€™m taking eight a day for in the morning and four at night typically. I will start back up the regime tomorrow. I will also go longer than a month because I thought something had to happen but it sounds like this type of thing is more of a layering effect on the body and the brain I have to assume. Meaning every time you take it it gets on top of the last dose and so on and so forth.

Art, thank you SO MUCH. The volume of info to wade through is as you know, immense. When I add my anxiety and brain fog on top of that, I have a hard time despite really trying. When well intentioned people respond, ā€œgo dig, thereā€™s tons of info.ā€ they are optimistically assuming that one can go dig without just drowning.

I tried to keep it organized so it should be easier to locate some specific topics such as dosing, but pretty much all of the info for B1 is there. You can select to save the post or just click on my icon, select the profile tab and it should appear in the list of my 20 or so posts. Good luck!

I am grateful to you Art. I am grateful for the information of course but also for your kindness and camaraderie.

For the anxiety and brain fog, you might look into very low dose (less than 21 mg/day) Lithium Orotate (LO). Here is a typical product :

One of the regular forum members (bassofspades) has reported good benefit from LO.

Ok definitely try it as my anxiety is challenging.

I tried that for a month, 4000 mg daily, and not much relief. So Iā€™m thinking I should do more. Additionally I tried the concentrate and itā€™s SO salty lol so I m searching for a better way to take it without the taste. It WAS great for my mood!

Thoughts?

I take the Vitacost capsules. My recollection is that it takes a few months to start working, but itā€™s been a while. I might be misremembering.

Same! Iā€™ll try again!

Just a hunch -

1 table spoon Magnesium Citrate (Calm Brand)

10 mg Melatonin (preferably sublingual)

The magnesium and the melatonin should prove sufficiently relaxing to shut down the chatter at night.šŸŒŗ
