Madopar prescripted Madopar for 15 years old

Hello all.

Doctor said to give my 15 years old brother Madopar (he has parkinson-like syndroms)

I read that it mustn't be given to people under the age 25. I'm interested, in detail -  what exactly will happen if it is taken by a person under 25?

I'm not medically qualified, but I understand it is because it might interfere with bone development in a young person. Could your brother get a second opinion?

Better check that....sometimes drugs are not recommended simply because they have not been tested on that particular group.  Ex: our grandchild, aged three, had every kind of seizure but the Medtronic implant device had only been tested on people between 12-55 so it wasn't recommended.  We discussed it with his seizure doc, however, and after the team discussed it, they implanted it (that would be off label) and it was the first done on a cold that young.  Really successful.  Just to let you know there are a variety of reasons for not using a med.  why are you using that drug?  Rare for symptoms in one so young.  I would suggest you get a second opinion and a panel of all his cellular nutrients.  What kind of doctor said that?

Did his doctor check for Wilson's disease? Wilson's disease is a genetic copper hoarding disease and causes a early onset Parkinson's syndrome.

Or they need to do a genetic test for Parkin gene mutations. Though in the following article it names Hispanics to be most at risk for Parkin induced parkinsonism.

Either way, for Wilson's disease or idiopathic Parkinson's the best herb in town is curcumin:
