CONSTIPATION

I know this has been on many times before but since everyone has been kind enough to give me advice, thought I would post what finally worked for me. Go to National Parkinson Foundation and look for Constipation in Parkinson's Disease. There are two pages of info. on how you can best treat constipation. I found that 2 Fibercon in the evening along with a stool softener, neither which are habit forming, worked. The key is you have to drink lots of water. Hope this is helpful.

Now - what I need is similar information for "Diaorrhoea"! I have had it for almost a year, and worked through many medical/nutritional programs, without success! I am trialling a period without Madapor and Azilect now - small changes so far!

You might try looking into coconut oil as an addition to your diet. Research it throughly. You will find alot of opinions and information .

Good luck

Antibiotics kill off your good intestinal bacteria, ever get diarrhea after a bout of antibiotics? If you don't restore your gut after you will get an overgrowth of yeast or other baddies - this can cause diarrhea. I it is important to get a really good prebiotic, and not just one that has 10 or 100 kinds...

I really need such effective advice to treat my diaorrhoea!!! It started suddenly almost 12 months ago and, trials of many nutritional programs from different health advisors, have had minimal effect! At present I am trialling a withdrawal from Madapor & Rasagiline; using Mucuna Pruriens! Six days so far with some minor changes - still watery stools!!!

Positive Movement Soup

6 cups vegetable stock

1 med onion, diced

1 cup cauliflower florettes

1 cup green beans, cut into about 1 inch pieces

2 cups shredded cabbage

1 med zucchini, diced, about 2 cups

1 cup small turnip, diced

3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 small jalapeno seeded and deveined, finely chopped

2 cups baby spinach

salt

pepper

Combine all ingredients, except the spinach, in a soup pot and bring to boil

Reduce to a simmer and cook covered for 20 minutes. Here you add salt/pepper

Stir in the spinach and cook another minute

Remove from heat and serve

I for one generally dislike vegetables but this meal was delicious. Try it on top of sweet cornbread.

Oh how it works. My wife doesn't want me describing the next day bathroom experience.

Thanks RoyProp! Your last sentence indicates this might not reduce my diaorrhoea! It does have lots o fibre! We will make the soup and spread the recipe to friends

Good old fashioned prunes work great I eat two or three every morning makes going easy. My PD Doc says you can't absorb your meds well unless you get yesterday stuff out- I found if I do it makes my day go better and the meds do work better.
