Many people on this forum have mentioned the problem of constipation. I have a footstool that you just drag across and place your feet on when you are sitting on the loo. This puts you in the correct squatting position to open your bowel, and viola! I am now regular as clockwork as I used to be. You can purchase a footstool on line paying anything from $15-$350 in Australia.

I do the same and it does help. $350 seems a bit pricey, though : - )
There's something called the Squatty Potty that is built to go around the commode so it can be left in place. Less than $50 here in the US.
I use a $10 foldable stool from Walmart-works great!
So does that stool basically make constipation a non - issue for PD folks? I have one I found at the thrift store for $5 and though I’m PD new, and use mine everyday, have not yet had this issue....
Doctors should know about this for advising patients!
I just wanted to thank you for this post. This is been talked about several times over the years and I know they sell something called The Squatty Potty but I never got around to trying it until this week and as you say, viola! Immensely helpful. Thank you for bringing it up again!
