Good post! It explains why I'm less shaky after eating beef, I wondered about that. Also why the GABA-plex supplement I use makes me feel good (L tyrosine & L theanine).

Wouldn't that be something! But, sadly, no. I just found the variety of ways to raise dopamine levels interesting, and I appreciated that they were simple measures anyone could try. I am assuming that that the increase is temporary, but if one continued to do the activity, take the supplements, etc. the increase could be maintained.

Best find for me-- I can continue make and and eat frozen bananas dipped in warm chocolate! Yum!!

Meditation, settles the mind, changes mood. How about achieving the same state of calmness through having a loved one scratch our balding head lightly? It brings on a hypnotic state of consciousness sometimes. :) And I don't have to hum or chant anything. :)
