Foot tremor: I have been diagnosed in 201... - Cure Parkinson's
Foot tremor
Hi tjpoppop. Before you are persuaded to take any medication for this tremor, ask yourself if - taking on unwanted serious side effects that invariably go with Pd medication because you feel so inconvenienced by the tremor - is it really worth that risk?
I know so many Pd patients, who spend a fortune on Pd medication, just to stop these tremors for short periods of time. It is really a cosmetic symptom. It is not painful but it does look a bit unsightly. After taking those various Pd medications for anything up to ten years or even more, those medications don't stop the tremors, in fact they often give the patient dyskinesia, which makes the limbs and head develop unwanted movements, which are far worse than the original tremors. Our bodies get used to any medication, which means that we have to take larger doses in order to get the same effect. Eventually, even as soon as ten years, we cannot take enough medication to get the required effect. Then we are in a very difficult situation.
Once hooked on these medications, it is difficult to avoid that possibility.
Have you noticed that the moment you use that foot, the tremor disappears. That means that if you want to avoid the tremors, all you have to do is flex the foot. I know that I would rather do that than take any toxic medication.
I am not against taking medication, but we should all investigate alternatives, before embarking on a course that makes us far worse off in the end. I was diagnosed with Pd in 1992 and mainly took one medication for eight years, after which I was able to come off that medication and have not taken any Pd medication for the past twelve years. I am now 80 years of age and live a normal active life. I still have the Pd, but I am able to keep it under control.
