Yes, this is very puzzling ! Wouldn't this indicate that whatever caused your left side tremor is now healing because this tremor is so diminished ? Also seems as if the right side caught a bug from the left I realize this all sounds very simplistic, but the main question is what's causing the left side to get better ?
I'm 11 yrs in (also in New Zealand) , mine started on my right side, but about 4 yrs ago progressed to left side and now is way worse on that side, plus my lower jaw has now joined the party. Oh what fun. Not !
Would you say that the rigitity has increased on the side where the tremor has reduced? I think I have read somewhere regarding recovery from primary dystonia that going from a locked rigid muscle to tremor or spasms is a positive sign. I have wondered if it could be similar for PwP. That tremor is a lighter form of symptom than rigitity. That could explain why tremor dominant people often have slower progression, or that they are tremor dominant just because they have slower progression.
PD has symptoms that are constantly changing, but I would like to understand what is happening. I was diagnosed more than 2 years ago following a dominant resting tremor on the left side, in addition to an essential tremor. Since then, the C/L medication has been successful and the situation is balanced after proper B6 supplementation. Since a few weeks, however, the resting tremor on the right side suddenly dominates. Not worrisome probably and a change of the dominant side is more common as this older post shows. Still, it makes me wonder if there are any further thoughts on the possible cause.
