I was diagnosed in 2013 and until recently the tremor didn't bother me too much, but now it is so much worse l have trouble getting off to sleep and then frequently waking after short intervals. Is there a magic fix?
Severe tremor : I was diagnosed in 2013 and... - Cure Parkinson's
Severe tremor
Same problem - tremor was interfering with sleep. Cinnamon helping me reduce tremor. Sleeping better. My report here: healthunlocked.com/cure-par...
Thanks for the info. However I’m confused: in your report, it indicates tremor wasn’t improved. Am I missing something?
Thanks for reading and for pointing that out. I have added the following update to the text:
Update October 2024
In 2020 I had mild tremor. Having neglected cinnamon, as of 2024 I had bad enough tremor to interfere with my sleep. At this time there has been improvement and I am sleeping better.
Great news! Thank you for the update.
I see that you took a powdered form. Do you see any reason why capsules wouldn’t work?
Capsules ought to work
Thanks for the input. I decided to order the powder that you used. How long did it take for you to notice results?
8 weeks for full effect, maybe notice improvement in half that time. It works gradually so it can be hard to fully appreciate. I recommend self administering the UPDRS as a way to track. You can find that here: parkinsons.va.gov/resources...
30 mg mitizipine worked for my hwp
Have you thought about DBS? I had the surgery one year ago. I have zero tremor now.
What Spuddy said! I don't have personal experience (yet) but have been told DBS can fix tremor, maybe better than other things.
Try proponolol yet? What are you currently taking?
I was just curious as to what kind of tremor you have, since there are so many different ones. We are dealing with a head tremor (the "no-no") and intermittent hand tremor at rest. I keep wondering if and/or when this will worsen and what to do about it in terms of prevention. I hope some of the suggestions below will help you and in turn will help me. It's very confusing because everyone is different. Good luck to you.
I tuck my hand under my pillow as weight helps calm it
I tuck my hand under the pillow. That helps to reduce the tremors. Also, stretch my arm and hold side of the bed help reducing it while I am going to sleep.
