I wonder, do you have any Stomach Problems in the present or the past?
I wondered if possible cause is a Hiatus Hernia, or perhaps an attack of Gastritis.
get it checked out.
What med are you on? For me the sinemet causes mucous, trouble swallowing, slurred speech, and other stuff with my mouth area. When on the Neupro patch i had a lot of trouble with breathing and balance. I had to quit. I know it's the med because I don't experience these symptoms on off time. But no sinemet, no walking. What do you do?
I take Madopar 125mgm x 4 daily I used to use Neupro patch too but I came off it It was not right for me.
Perhaps your doctor should try some other drug if Sinemet does not agree with you.
They can also give you medicine if you have problems with too much mucous.
Could it possibly be an allergic reaction in your mouth to the coating on the Sinemet.
I wish you all the best.
Thanks, it may be gastritis, I get a terribly bitter taste also. The neuro patch does help my walking. These episodes with shortness of breathe, tightness, etc seem to come after a larger meal. I don't have much appetite tho. I take sinemet25/100 4 or 5 times a day, plus one extended release i the morning. i'm going to try serrapeptase, have ordered it. Any suggestions about this med?

serrapeptase: Uses, Side Effects, Interactions and Warnings - WebMD
I have sent you this link (Above) to look at for Serrapeptase have a read through it see what you think, if it helps. but you should not take anything without checking with your Doc first, or the Pharmacy who supplies your medications. Just to be safe.
That bitter taste in the mouth might be regurgitation which sounds like a Hiatus Hernia to me, but please get it checked out to be sure, then you can adjust your diet accordingly.
best of luck to you.
All of these symptoms, and many more, can be caused by chronic unintentional dehydration. Water is Nature's 'solvent' - our bodies need it to transport nutrients (and medication) to our cells, to flush and carry away toxins from our cells, and to thin mucous so it flows out of the body more readily. It may be worthwhile to first just try drinking more water or other healthy liquids (not alcohol, tea, coffee or soft drinks that just dehydrate you further). Aim for 2 litres a day, with a big glass upon waking and before meals. You might be amazed at the results of this simple solution.
Arthur sounds like two problems, reflux type problem and short of breath problem. Do check out any over the counter medications with your doctor or pharmacist. There are certainly some we should not take.
If you put breathing problems or similar words in the search you will find other threads on this which may be interesting. I have these problems particularly when i need more medication ( not less). It is very complicated to work out cause and effect and worth keeping a diary for a while to plot meds alongside what is happening. Useful to take to appointments.
Good luck
I have a friend that has trouble breathing and her doctor said it was dyskensia (sp?) due to Sinemet. He reduced her dose & it helped some.
