Amen to that! I have eaten this way for years. Would be a mess otherwise. I cannot digest wheat! The real problem with wheat supply is its subjugation to GMO. Heirloom wheat is different. As for brown rice-try sprouted and has mega doses of GABA which many of us with P.D. are short on. Add turmeric=great for digestion and pain.
I didn't know you could sprout brown rice!!! Do you do this in an ordinary sprouter? I have been on a low carb & gluten, high fat way of eating for about 3 months now. One of the reasons was that I was becoming really addicted to carbs & I didn't want to put on weight - also I heard & read - that it could help people with PD. My husband is trying it now - as he wants to loose weight & he is finding it not as restrictive as he thought - & he is areal foody!!!
I was terribly ill for 18 long years before I finally discovered I was allergic to gluten. Got off the gluten .....began to feel better then the tremors started. I'm reading Dr. Perlmutter's book, "Grain Brain"......believe gluten contributed to my getting PD.
