Many Parkinson's medications can cause low blood pressure and orthostatic hypotension.

I recently increased my sinemet 50% and my blood-pressure dropped from 120s/70s to 90s/50s.

That was very mutch pressure drop Coblrman.

I have to high values 140/90 but when rising quickly up it drops to 95-110/85

The problem is how to messure the pressure.

My nevrolog has never asked me about my blodpressure.

So if i am going to have an answer i have to find it myself.

To messure Ortostatisk hypotensjon i have to get a lot of data with or without eldepryl ,and further on while redusing (and waithing) sinemet dose.

To messure 24 hours i have to contact the docktor to get the rigth equipment straped on.This should be done on different doses on sinemet.

Only to go to the doctor asking for a messurment will for me be anything between 155-105/95-75.

I find this very comlicated

I am greatfull for advice

thanks

Orthostatic hypotension is a problem caused by Parkinsons and made worse by our drugs. It is very common. I'm not sure why you want to measure your BP but if it was me I would buy my own sphygmomanometer.

Hi snorre. I used eldepryl for ten years. I did get very high blood pressure because my doctor did not tell me not to eat food containing high levels of tyramine. I did get the occasional incidents of feeling bad, when getting up suddenly, but I knew what it was and tried to avoid getting up quickly. Eldepryl on its own works very well, if you are not looking for immediate relief from symptoms. Combine the eldepryl with walking, three times a week and getting rid of all stress.

medication can affect blood pressure, on pd medication it is best practice to have it taken seated and standing. NICE guidance recommends 24 hour blood pressure monitoring to be performed which can be done by most GP surgeries
