I eat before taking my methotrexate. Crackers, rice, something kind of bland, but something to kind of fill my stomach. It really helped me. Good luck.

My Rheumy once told me to take a spoonful of regular robitussin an hour before you take mtx. It helped! And make sure you are on nexus or something like it.

I have been on Methotrexate and Omeprazole to guard against stomach problems. I have been on this for about a decade without problems. Ask your RA doc if this might be helpful to you.

I tried some ginger chews. I got them at Trader Joes i think. They helped some but i had to switch to an injectable MTX . I still had to stop taking it as my stomach just couldn't take it. Hope you feel better.

Thank you for answering my problem. I will try the ginger chews. I really hope I don't have to go to the injections. Needles have never been one of my favorite things. Again thank you for respnding

I take Omeprazole, but if you suffer from nausea, you may also try taking a few slices of Granny Smith apple and take small bites. I have found this helps a lot. Good luck to you!

Thank you that is what my doctor recommended. It has helped some. I also try to eat a salad before taking the medicine. This has helped some. Again thank you for responding.

I takeke it before bed so i sleep through some of the side effects. I take folic acid every day too. Drinking hot lemon water every morning before anything else seems to help too. Added berries, non fat Greek yogurt, oatmeal and more vegetables to my diet and eat small meals. Also, drink lots of water. I have found hydration is important to keep up activity level longer. Take care!

Are you on the pill form or shot? I have been told for some people the pill form is just to aggressive on the tummy and that the shot seems to work better for those individuals. Talk with your doc.. They are usually happy to help with many different options

Thank you for responding. I already take 2 folio acid a day. Maybe I'll try taking one in the morning and one in the evening and maybe that will help. Thanks again for the suggestion
