The emotional rollercoaster

The emotional roller-coaster of UC sometimes is tough. It's very cruel sometimes and just wanted to make a post as it crosses my mind. It hits you when you are stressed and rewards you when you turn the tides but in many ways for a lot of us I think it would be easier to take the other way round.

When you have so much on your plate, a flare up can be that straw that breaks the camels back, yet when you are in a better place sometimes it's something that maybe a little easier to deal with.

Just remember that you are all amazing for coping with this disease and I like to now take it as a little reminder that I need to focus on myself a bit more.

I think without realising sometimes in life we spend so much time worrying about other people, doing jobs for other people that it is easy to neglect ourselves when really we need to have some days when we put out a stop sign and say No. Put that foot down and say today is about me, or this week is about me. Never feel guilty about it as we are useless to anyone when we are unwell either physically or mentally. Allow yourself to take the time, build yourself up and be kind to yourself. I think we are all less productive when we are unhappy so see it as investment in yourself and your future you

Keep the faith, stay positive, stay mindful and the corner will be turned. 🤞

Absolutely agree with all you say. It's hard putting ourselves first but necessary. UC is an invisible illness and because you look ok people can't see your suffering only you can make the changes, people will be more understanding when you explain how you fre feeling and if they don't it's not your fault.

Bless you
