Memory Loss and Remicade

I’m wondering if anyone taking Remicade also has memory issues.

I used to take Methotrexate and it really affected my short term memory badly and made most of my hair fall out. Once I stopped the drug, my memory return to normal.

I’m now on Remicade and doing fairly well. They upped my dosage last March as it was as discovered I was being under dosed according to my weight.

In the past few months I notice a decline.

I’m forgetting things and it can be scary, especially when I don’t know where I am, in an area I know well,

I loose things, and I can’t remember in the afternoon, things from the morning. Sometimes I can’t remember a word for something.

My Gastro is on vacation for a week.

Does anyone who takes a biological find it affects your memory?

No, not really but I only had my 3rd infusion. But I do forget things a lot these days but it started before the infusions. Age can make a difference. I’m 57 and my short term memory is not the same. But not knowing where you are in an unknown area is kind of not normal unless you are older.

I’m 50, but sometimes my body feels like I’m 80! My mind feels youngish, but my body is mostly in a state of exhaustion.

I’m being treated for anemia and just now read an article that it can cause mental deficiency, so I’m hoping that is what is causing memory loss. Really it’s a scary thing.

Hope your infusions are helping it’s so much better when you find the drug that actually works for you.

I think the fatigue itself means we get brainfog. Sometimes it scares me how bad my memory can be

Me too! It is scary.

I sometime think I have early onset dementia.

I haven’t had any major issues at work, just little mistakes, but makes me afraid I might make a big mistake cause I forget something.

I was on Remicade for 3 infusions. I had to stop, because of the severe joint pain and diarrhea. It has been 3 month's since my last infusion. I am 61 and have developed memory loss since my last infusion. I had no idea that Remicade could cause this terrible side effect. Does anyone know if your memory gets better?
