It's rough when you first get diagnosed. I remember when I first got sick and felt so alone in it all. The tests that are so embarrassing and painful. I've been through it all so if I can help you just let me know.

Hi and sorry for your pain. I have had BD for over 30 years now but I still remember how bad it was at the onset and it took me over 12years to get a diagnosis. Back then I saw many doctors in different countries and nobody had any idea what was wrong with. It may seem as though you are alone but you are not there are many people on this site to offer advice, sympathy and some laughs. May I ask what dose of steroids you are taking and for how long? Also when is your next appointment, if soon just hold on and then let them know the steroids aren't working too well. There are many more meds now that can help and steroids are only really a quick solution like a bandaid. If it gets too bad you need to call your consultant and ask his advice. I was on steroids for a very long time and very high doses, eventually I refused to take them and have this on my medical records as they certainly were not good for me. Without more information it is difficult to help.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I'm sorry to hear that, I've had these symptoms on/off for a year and because there is gaps of non symptoms I've thought I'd get over it but it's worse now as the breaks between having the symptoms are getting more regular

Guess what i'm gonna say, again. If you live in England and you are not happy with you GI doctors, ask for a referral to St Marks at Northwick Park In Harrow NW Lonodon. They really are TOPS FOR BOTTOMS. That is what they specialise in . Intestines, gut, colon, ileum in fact from top to bottom thewy are tops for bottoms ,. They deal with the complete digestive tract, in one hospital, with other experts in the same field of operation. They are there, so use them. Ask your GP for a referral. He can't refuse. And if he does take a drive or walk to the hospital and as you get an attack outside, get taken into the A and E {not recommended} but it works.
