Any advice on starting up again?

I graduated about a month ago, all pleased with my achievement and full of great plans....but then life got in the way in the form of masses of work travel accompanied by an incredibly painful heel. Thankfully both have subsided now and I am dying to get running again, but I don't feel I can start just where I left off. Any advice on best way to proceed?

Nice to see you again bogfairy!!! :-) maybe just take it slow and go for a nice run and see what kind of time and distance you put in? Its my understanding, any lost stamina will soon be regained. I sympathize with life getting in the way. When we went through C25K, we made it a priority, now we struggle to fit runs in. Good luck to you and I hope the heel behaves! :-) Gayle

I agree, plan a nice gentle scenic run where you can enjoy a walk if you have to. See how you get on, then make a plan based on that. It's good to fit in unstructured, untimed, no-pressure runs from time to time and just make enjoying it a priority. You won't have lost too much fitness in a month, you just need a nice run to boost your confidence. Good luck :-)

Good advice, thanks :-) wasn't too hard on myself and it went fine even if I was a pink sweaty mess at the end of it! Thanks for the encouragement.

Hi Gayle! good to be back :-) Thanks for the advice - did just that today! Took it very slow but brought W5R5 along for company and it went fine thankfully. Will take it easy for the next few runs and will hopefully get back into the swing of it before long. the benefits are just too good to give up on :-D How are you doing since graduation?
