I have been resting for the last two weeks following a horrible bout of sacroilitis which is now a lot better. Today i went on a long field walk with no problems so could i return yet and if yes how far back should i go - I was on W7R3??

Hi, I just had ten days off with shin splints before I was about to start wk7. Started back on wk3, but I'm just scared about wrecking my shins again and could probably have gone to wk5. Anyway hope this helps and good luck
I would try going back to week 3 or 4 and if that run goes well move on up to the next week. If you have been bed bound by an illness your body strength will have suffered but if you've managed to stay active you should bounce back. Listen to your body and if your not ready to move on to the next week then repeat a run, better to take your time and finish no matter how long it takes, its not a race, they can come later!!!
The rough rule of thumb according to Runners World mag is take the same time to build up as you were off.i.e if you were ill for two weeks it will take two weeks to get back to where you were. I'd try W6R1 and see how it goes.
