If you complete 3 Week 1 runs successfully then you're on to week 2. If that first week 2 run is complete, then you only need to do it twice more and you're on to Week 3. (I found Week 2 *so* much easier than Week 1!)

Listen to your body underlay, if you have had flu you will need to take things gently so why not repeat just one run of week 1 and see how that goes, if all is OK then move onto week 2. If the pain in your back is mid/lower back you may need a little more time to recover. Take things slow and steady, good luck.

I was injured at the exact same time (didn't heed advice and buy new shoes). I started over from the beginning again and am now about to start Week 7. Good luck!

Had really bad flu about half way through the programme and had to take almost two weeks off. When I felt up to it I repeated the last run of the week that I was on before getting sick and as that went okay I progressed on to the next week. But as Oldgirl says above, listen to your body and don't push it – even if you have to add an extra week or two it's neither here nor there really – especially if you're viewing running as something you'll be doing for some time – which is what happens to a lot of us once we get stuck in to this running lark!
