Invited my 9 year old son on W9R2 today. Set off in lovely weather, him on his bike, heading for my usual route along country lanes. He was puzzled at first as I was walkin so I explained about the 5 min warm up walk and that I'd start running when we reached the pub, as I duly did. 1K in he asked again when I was going to start running!!! The huffing, puffing and sweaty shuffle was obviously not fooling him!! Nevertheless I managed 30 mins. Still nowhere near 5K (as you might have guessed!) but I'll work on that. Leaving my son behind next time though. Can't believe it will be by graduation run!

Children, who'd have them ? A plaintive cry issued by myself and my wife four children later ;)

Well done Sarah, that's amazing. Good look for the graduation and remember just how far you have come over the program. You ate a super star, just remember that. Let us know how you get on :-)!!!

Maybe if I ate a super star I would improve my speed??? Not read about that technique anywhere but you may be onto something!!

Thanks - looking forward to finishing and hoping to do my first parkrun next weekend! Really chuffed that I can run for 30 mins, even if I am slow!

i sometimes take my boy(age11) on his scooter, as he is a keen football player and trains 6 hrs a week i thought he would be a lot faster than me , he didnt want to come again he said he couldnt keep up lol , so the next time i persuaded him to come he scooted with me for a bit then he went of to the park which was on route and i did a loop and picked him up on the way bk. much easier and i get less of the moaning . not that i heard much anyway had the music on load enough to drown out the winging lol
