I'm on week 8, I usually try to consume 2 pints before I hit the road.

I just try and keep hydrated all the time throughout the day every day now.
I cant drink much before running as I feel uncomfortable and the only time I have had a stitch was after drinking more than usual before starting a run.
My usual routine, if I am running first thing I have water when I wake, then mug of tea and a banana about half hour before going out running. On a weekend when I have a bit more time, I have the water when I wake then a mug of tea and porridge/berries/banana about an hour before my longer runs.
If I plan to be out for longer than 30 mins I take half a litre of apple juice/water and sip if needed as I run otherwise drink it all when I finish.
Thanks for your feedback. I've had to do the odd run with a hangover (due to a wedding) and that nearly killed me. I don't actually drink whilst I'm doing the run but now I'm in week 9 I might change that.

Drink when you're thirsty. That's all you need

i vary but depending what time i go out. usually i go evenings 8pm and i try to make sure i have plenty over the whole day rather then tons just before leaving. if i have a glass within 30 min of leaving i get a stitch. often i will have a glass an hour before. if im going in morning 8am ish i have my breakfast at 6.30 (up early with kids!) and maybe a glass of squash at 7.
a good guide to hydration is colour of urine, it should be straw colour and gets darker if you havent had enough fluid
i dont think i could face running hungover
