Slowly, slowly, but still moving....

What a few weeks......

My body must think its been assaulted, either that or taken over by aliens, just 4 weeks ago I didn't really do any regular exercise, but now I am out there getting red faced and sweaty 3 times a week. I can't quite believe it, the other thing that has surprised me is that even though this program is really really tough I have so far persevered...... Just about!!!!

So, onto today and week 4 run 1, I decided to do it at my gym which has an indoor running track, mainly because I knew it would be completely flat (is that cheating a bit?) the running track has 4 lanes, the inside 2 for walkers and the outside 2 for runners so I kept changing depending on which stage of the podcast I was on. I've got to say it was slightly off putting when fit people kept bombing past me, but at least the breeze they left in their wake cooled me down......

The run itself was sooooo hard, but running round the track kind of helped as it was only 200m and I got to know how long it took me and therefore how far I had left to run each time I was on the verge of giving up, and I was so close to giving up quite a few times, but I DID IT! My legs were so so heavy and in pain by the end of it but I repeat I DID IT!!!!!!!!

Not looking to run 2, the downside of these blogs is that I've seen how many people have really struggled with the next run!!!!!

I had a terrible shin pain after W4R1 but surprisingly it never came back so you might be ok too after R2:-)

Running on a track sounds like a nice way to do it, for a change. Don't worry about the fit people passing you - one day that will be you but hopefully you'll remember to offer words of encouragement to the people you pass :-)
