Finding peace

Running is always my stress relief but lately I have put it off as caring for my Dad has reached epic proportions and I have been so down.

Today after a weekend of his escalating scary aggression and hallucinations today I laced up my shoes and just ran, I listened to an NRC podcast last time I went out about finding joy and it talked about not considering running for stress relief but running to find peace and there is a difference I feel.

Back home coffee in hand and been on to Doctors to get some help big hugs to anyone else dealing with parents or loved ones with Alzheimer’s

Peace and good running to all

I am sorry to hear you have such a lot on Wavychick28 . And sorry for your dad, it’s a horrid disease. He looks like your dad - but isn’t acting like your dad - utterly heart breaking .

I am thrilled you made some time for you and that you found a little peace . I think that is a marvellous way to think about it ❤️I hope you keep finding little pockets of time for you.

Sending strength and peace to you xxx

I really feel for you my love I was in the same position as you a few months back but now my dad is in a very good (and very expensive care home) x lost mum april 2021 to cancer and it was v clear v quickly he wasn’t right I think they were keeping each other going and when she wasn’t there any more he had nothing x the hardest thing Ive had to do is pack up all their belongings and sell the house they loved and were in for 23 years - you find the strength from somewhere cos you can’t ever buckle x my heart goes out to you it is an utter monster xxxx running is your time so try to enjoy it and yes it does bring a brief respite friend m being in a long dark tunnel xx. Love and light to you xx

Running for stress relief and be an aid but definitely, not a cure... and I over-used it as a cure a while back. Running for the pure joy of the run is key, and you found the key.

The power of the great outdoors and the steady pace of your body... work beautifully! My new companion on my walk. talk sessions has explained to me the scientific benefits of the steady pace of our feet and how it works in relation to our emotional state... !

I am thinking of you at this very tricky time...xxx

I hope the docs were able to give you some help with your dad Wavy-chick, it sounds really tough. Sending you hugs and positive thoughts. I hope you get some peace with your running and can get time to get out there. Take care x
