I got as far as Week 8 and did sneak in a 30min jog. However my feet, ankles and lower calves had swollen in the hot weather to the point where I could hardly get my shoes on. The gp prescribed a low dose diuretic which had some effect, as has the drop in temperature. My ankles still swell in the evenings though and I am reluctant to start jogging again in case I make things worse. I’m 76 and walk a lot though hadn’t jogged for decades before C25K. Any advice?

Just spotted this-had a busy weekend and still playing catch up. Sorry you’re having troubles with your ankles swelling. That sounds really frustrating. Have you been advised not to run by your GP or is that something you’re worried about happening?
We’re not really able to give medical advice, but I think I’m right in saying we’d all encourage you to talk to someone in real life about what the best way to manage this with your running. Hopefully you’ve got a sympathetic and lovely medical professional to advise you.
All of us are passionate about running but it’s got to be right with everything else that’s going on with your health. Really good luck to you.❤️
EDIT: I forgot to mention we’ve got a forum dedicated to walking which might be of interest while you’re working out if running is right for you? They’re very friendly over there and you’d be made very welcome.
Thanks for your reply. I’ve joined the walking forum you recommended. My ankles are a lot better with the cooler weather, so I may get back to jogging again soon.
