Can you go too slow?!

I’ve read so many answers on this page saying slow down, but seriously can you go too slow? I feel like an absolute snail I “run” slower than I walk I feel and I feel so self conscious and that I look like an absolute fool.

However I’m still going just completed week 4 run 1, when I looked at it I thought I would definitely have to repeat week 3 as week 4 was far too advanced, yet I done it at my snails pace 😂 But I still feel like I’m doing it all wrong!

If you are getting out there running, if you are progressing, nope you aren't going too slow and you don't look an absolute fool, you are amazing, week four is a big jump up and you did the run, be proud (bet your snail is faster than mine)

Congratulations to you Han99m on completing run 1 of week 4, no one except some cheeky little boys shouting at you while you run are going to call you an absolute fool, I have never heard of that happening, you can repeat any runs or week's if you wish to, you are running at a easy conversation pace, well done, slow and steady is the mantra slogan here on C25K, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍

Lol - my first post on this Forum back in '16 was" Is it even possible that I run slower than I walk?"

And yes, it was 🙂

But - I kept going and got "faster" but infinitely more important was that I found the enjoyment of Running - "fast" OR "slow"

Hang in there :)

Sounds like you're doing it right to me! There's always time to speed up (if you want to) when you have a solid base and the endurance to keep it going. I run slowly but the first time I did C25K the 5K took me over 50 mins I think, I got faster with practice, but the aim was never speed for me, just time & distance. Slow is good for building confidence and building up/strengthening your muscles.

Don't let your gremlins tell you anything different!

I've never been fast, started slow nearly 10 years ago, still go at about the same pace. Do I love running? Oh yes indeed! If you're enjoying your runs don't worry about speed or pace, just have fun.
