Thankful for the treadmill on these dark, wet nights

My running buddy is not well at the mo so I’ve been running on my own (with Coach Bennet keeping me company 😂). Problem is, it’s too dark for me to run alone after work and it’s been lashing it down with rain almost every evening 😏 So I’ve been thankful for my treadmill this week. I’d much prefer to run outside and find the treadmill too boring to run on for long, 30 mins max but I do enjoy it for interval runs. I revisited the 3,2,1 Go run from NRC which is one of my favourites but I haven’t run it for some time. It finishes with 30 seconds of your fastest running which I love, but I also love the 1 minute of recovery time you get after it 😂 as it always makes me feel a bit queasy. I’m going to try to get out in the light over the weekend to get a longer outdoor run too, weather permitting 🌧️ but I’m grateful to have the best of both worlds 😊

Edit ✍️ Outdoor run completed this morning ☑️ Deliciously slow and steady, and the late Autumn sunshine was just glorious after the atrocious weather we’ve had this week. Now that feels better 😊

Excellent! Really glad you found a way to run, especially with the lovely Coach B!

Huge well done you, and I am glad that CB is keeping you company! The TM can be really useful... I used mine whenever there was black ice on the ground.

I know you have been running for a while but maybe take care on those fast spurts... that queasy feeling you get at the moment could be a sign that, for whatever reason, you are pushing a tad too hard and over exerting ?

Thanks for the advice 👍🏻 You won’t often find me going fast 🐌 I’m a fan of deliciously long slow runs. I realised early on that going too fast does make me feel queasy. It used to happen when I ran for a bus I’m my much younger days 🤢 which was quite often 😂 I don’t tend to bother too much about speed these days. The positive thing is, I’ve done that run twice this week and I was less queasy the second time so I’m getting better 😂. Thanks for responding 😊
