I am on week 7 run 3. I have pain in the side of my lower legs when running. I am not sure why this is the case given that I stretch after running, drink 2.5 litres of water and do a brisk warm up walk.
I tried using compression stockings but the pain of the compression was worse than the pain in the side of my lower legs?
I would be grateful if anyone has any ideas of what this pain might be and how I can resolve it. It is making running a struggle.
Many thanks

Although it's not possible for anyone to diagnose this on the forum , my best Guess would be shin splints , of which there could be many causes , footwear, running on hard surfaces, heel striking to name but a few !
I would certainly take a few days rest and not run with pain, follow the advice in the programme guide for injury recovery and If the pain persists or recurs frequently, then a visit to your GP or a sports physio to get a professional opinion would be advised .
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
Are you sure that the stretches you are doing are the correct ones....ie. dynamic for pre run and static for post run as linked to in this guide to the plan, which is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5... includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
