Cramping pain in the calf lasting weeks.

I’ve had pain in the lower calf in both legs in the past while running, it was like a cramp pain coming on after about a mile this happened on each leg at different running sessions and would last a few weeks and made me give up altogether. I think maybe I done too much to quickly so I’m going to try this couch to 5k, maybe with small increments there will be no calf pain this time. Fingers crossed. Has anyone else had similar trouble?

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.Work through the plan in a gently progressive manner, maintain rest days. Too much too soon is a very common phrase uttered by physics to new runners.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5....

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
